관세음보살 보문품 1-11

11.

또 만일 어떤 여인이 아들 낳기를 원하여 관세음보살님께 예배하고 공양하면 곧 복덕과 지혜를 갖춘 아들을 낳을 것이요, 만일 딸 낳기를 원한다면 곧 단정하고 잘 생긴 딸을 낳게 되리니, 이는 덕의 근본을 잘 심었으므로 여러 사람의 사랑과 존경을 받으리라.

And if one woman worships and offers with food to Kwan-Sae-Eum Bodhisattva for hoping to have a son, soon she could give birth to a son with abundance and wisdom, if she wants to have a daughter, then she could give birth to a daughter with neat and handsome, they would get love and respect from many people because it was planted a root of virtue.

 

 무진의야, 관세음보살은 이와 같은 힘이 있느니라. 만일 중생들이 관세음보살을 공경하고 예배하면 복이 헛되지 않으리니, 그러므로 중생은 모두 관세음보살의 이름을 반드시 받들어야 하느니라.

 Moo-Jin-Ui, Kwan-Sae-Eum Bodhisattva has a power like this. If sattivas respect and worship Kwan-Sae-Eum Bodhisattva, their fortune would not be in vain, so all sattivas should serve the name of Kwan-Sae-Eum Bodhisattva.

 

 무진의야, 만일 어떤 사람이 육십이억 항하의 모래수같이 많은 보살의 이름을 받들고 또 목숨이 다하도록 음식과 의복과 침구와 의약을 공양한다면 너의 생각은 어떠하냐. 이 선남자·선여인의 공덕이 얼마나 많겠느냐.』

Moo-Jin-Ui, if one person serves a large number of bodhisattva's name like sixty-two billion ㉠hanghasa and offers food, acupuncture, moxibustion and medicine until his(her) life go, then what do you think? How many are the merits of this good man or woman.』

 

무진의보살이 대답하였다.

 『매우 많겠나이다, 세존이시여.』

 Moo-Jin-Ui Bodhisattva answered.

 『It will be very much, Sae-Jon.』

 

 부처님께서 말씀하시었다.

 『만일 어떤 사람이 관세음보살의 이름을 받들어 잠깐이라도 예배하고 공양하면, 이 두 사람의 복이 똑같아서 조금도 다름이 없으며 백천만억 겁을 두고 헤아려도 다할 수가 없느니라.

 Buddha said.

 『If one person serves the name of Kwan-Sae-Um Bodhisattva and worships and serves even for a second, these two people's blessing is the same and there's no little difference, so it would not end if you count during million, ten million, billion's ㉡kalpa.

 

무진의야, 관세음보살의 이름을 받들면 이와 같이 한량없고 가이없는 복덕과 이익을 얻느니라.』

Moo-Jin-Ui, if they serve the name of Kwan-Sae-Eum Bodhisattva, they will have countless merits and porfits like this.』
